Why I do this work
I was four years old when my father died.
He was there one night and gone the next day. Because of that, my family talked about death openly, at a time when most families would not say the word out loud.
For the last ten years I have run Faithful Home Care Solutions. I have walked families from the first sign of illness all the way through to the funeral. I cared for one client for ten years, right up to the end.
In all that time I have watched the same thing happen over and over. The family is grieving and guessing at the same time. That is what this work exists to prevent.

The Ready Five
Five things every family needs handled.
Read down the list and count how many you have finished. Not started, not thought about — finished, signed, and findable.

The Voice
Power of Attorney. Who speaks and signs for you when you cannot. Financial and medical authority, named in writing.

The Wishes
Health care directive and living will. What you do and do not want done. Hospice. Resuscitation. Who decides what.

The Record
Where everything lives. Documents, account information, policies, and the login to the medical portal. If your family cannot find it, it does not exist.

The Provision
Life insurance and final expense coverage. Enough to cover a funeral that now runs $10,000 to $15,000, and enough to replace the income that stops.

The Farewell
Last will and testament, plus the celebration of life plan. Burial or cremation. Service or graveside. Repast or no repast. Written down, so nobody has to guess.
